Some things to work on

Based on discussion from our last meeting, 12/4 at 7:30 am. We all had some ideas:

1. A Winter Event. We should have a winter event other than school appreciation. During the summer we have Diversity Day, another event would enliven the atmosphere of the school during these long winter months.

2. Carpooling. We need to help our students with their transportation problems through carpooling. Social networking and exchanging phone numbers during the first week of class helps students to have resources with their transportation.

3. Problem Solving. social networking helps student to problem solve without dependence on a "helping" staff.

4. Demand Driven: students need to come up with their own ideas. Social networking won't work unless those we serve participate.

5. Learning at the Work site. There are a lot of advantages of a classroom outside a school, but in an actual work site. The floral program benefits most from this as their classroom is located outside EGOS at the city floral distribution center. Students get a feel for the industry and have a more authentic learning experience.

8. Bulletin Boards. There are a lot of empty bulletin boards around the school. Can we get students to work on them?
